Hilltop Lakes Resort Golf Course first opened for play in 1963. The front nine was designed by Ralph Plummer. Leon Howard designed the back nine, which opened in 1970.
Hilltop Lakes Resort Golf Course is a scenic course with homes and trees lining all its fairways. In addition, the fairways are all bordered by a standard cut of rough. Water hazards come into play on a number of holes, and sand bunkers have been strategically placed around the course. Only homeowners of Hilltop Lakes are allowed to be members of this private club.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,330 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,635 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 503 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 10, a par-3 that plays to 140 yards from the back tees.
The most difficult hole is #14, a 361-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot over a creek, then an approach shot over a small pond to the green. The easiest at Hilltop is hole # 10, the short 140 yard par-3.
